Jan Houts is an accomplished professional with 25 years of corporate and marketing communications experience at fast-paced companies ranging from start-ups to industry leaders.

She has developed communications programs, led numerous product launches, built and managed marcom teams, drove executive communications, and worked with key industry publications, editors, analysts and vendors. In addition, she’s done lots of the “hands-on” work like writing press releases, organizing trade shows and planning meetings and events.

Prior to starting Houts Communications in 2003, Jan worked in corporate positions at QuickLogic Corporation (Director of Corporate Communications, 1998-2003), Xilinx, Incorporated (Marcom Manager, 1990 -1997), Daisy Systems (Trade Show Manager, 1986 – 1990) and Bell & Howell (Sales Administrator, 1982 -1986).

To complete the “we” in Houts Communications, Jan partners with the best graphics designers, web developers, technical writers and exhibit houses as needed. These services are transparent to the client, and costs are never marked up.

Women in Consulting is a non-profit affiliation of business consultants. Our dual mission is to provide companies seeking consultant talent with access to top tier consultants, and to provide a forum for consultants to share information and effectively manage and grow their consulting practice.

The FORUM was founded in 1979 to provide a forum for discussion of topics of mutual interest and to enhance the association, networking capabilities and friendship of its members. Active members live in Sonoma County and must be employed, own a business or be actively involved in a community service.
